"Open your eyes, look within. Are you satisfied with the life you're living?"
"We all have to live together, so we might as well live together happily."
"You must be the change you wish to see in the world."
My aim is to connect with each individual, to help students to develop a personal practice and internal energy connection, forming a relationship of trust and confidence in order to work together and improve both physical and mental health and wellbeing.
Working with groups and individuals, using all limbs of yoga as tools to develop a relationship with self and others, to support a journey of recovery and inspire a rich and fulfilling life.
My goal is to support and empower not only those who are able to afford and enjoy regular yoga practice but vulnerable people who have previously been unable to access such a service or who have felt uncomfortable in doing so.
"Truth is the same always. Whoever ponders it will get the same answer. Buddha got it. Patanjali got it. Jesus got it. Mohammed got it. The answer is the same, but the method of working it out may vary this way or that"
Swami Satchidananda, The Yoga Sutras

This journey began with an overwhelming need to change –my life and career choices had been made by someone I no longer was, I was stuck in habits that did not serve me, I constantly felt unfulfilled and restless, with no sense of purpose, inspiration or excitement. I struggled with chronic self-loathing, post-traumatic stress disorder and other mental health challenges. Being unable to think my way out of this situation, I began rigorous application of anything practical that seemed to help.
Yoga gives me such freedom from my difficulties with my health, addiction and body image that I feel compelled to share it with others. I am blessed to be part of a recovery fellowship that has given me a bridge to normal living and empowers me to change my life and work towards helping others to do the same. This mantra is always with me;
"We can only keep what we have by giving it away."

This inspired my journey and continues to motivate me. In 2015 I qualified in Hatha Vinyasa Flow, followed by Y12SR - Yoga of the 12 Steps of Recovery, and towards the end of 2016 I qualified to teach Yin Yoga. I continue to learn, attending workshops and study groups, the most recent being an inspiring day with Gary Carter, studying fascia and movement, learning the importance of considered movement and presence in our yoga practice.
